FAQ's Daycare center
Children are admitted from the age of 8 weeks if a corresponding legal notice is available from the Cottbus youth welfare office. Children without legal notice are looked after from the age of 1.
The day care center is not only open to students and employees of the BTU, but to all children who are registered in Cottbus.
Upon request, a settling-in period of up to 10 days can be agreed to carefully and individually accustom the child to daycare in cooperation with the caregiver and the parents.
The day care center is open from Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 17:00. The children must be brought by 09:00 a.m. There is a general legal right to care for up to 6 hours per day. With a legal notice from the youth welfare office, care time of up to 10 hours per day can be agreed.
The day care center is closed for 2 weeks during the summer holidays and between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. In addition, there are 2-3 closing days per year for internal training courses / events. The parents will be informed of the exact dates in good time.
The parental contribution is determined on the basis of the parents’ net income in the previous calendar year, the age of the child, the amount of care provided and the number of children living in the household. The fee is checked annually for the new daycare year.
The catering offer consists of a vitamin break, snacks, drinks and lunch.
The food should be fun and enjoyable for our daycare children, as well as fresh, healthy and delicious. Eating is pleasure. Eating is pleasure. Food should strengthen well-being and appeal to all the senses. Because the eating habits of the first years of life have a significant influence on nutritional behavior in adulthood!

The personal contribution to lunch (50 € per month and child) is charged as a lump sum. This amount is billed for ten months of the year. This means that you have to pay €41.67 per month. Absences are no longer billed separately.
The place can be canceled with a notice period of 4 weeks to the end of the month. A termination of the contract due to school entry does not require a separate notice.
A special right of termination of 2 weeks applies for the first month of the contract.
The daycare committee is made up of representatives appointed by the provider and elected by the employees or parents. It meets regularly to discuss upcoming issues.
For better and faster communication with the parents of the children admitted to us, the nursery has an info app, which is provided free of charge.
The aim of the app is a simple and quick information transfer to the parents. There is a news and calendar function, which informs about current events, celebrations, parents’ evenings, etc. in our daycare center.
Flyers or other documents are also forwarded to parents as PDF files via the app.
An absence module allows you to sign out your children with just one click. Thus, we are spared the telephone service in the morning.
In addition, the app can be set to different languages. The app translates messages sent for parents directly into their heart language.
And of course the app is data protection compliant according to DGSVO. Data transmission between the individual components takes place according to the latest encryption standards.
You can find out how to set up the app → here
